Inspiration For An Ocean Themed Dinner Party!

by Cindy Rippe

It's been a long, brutal winter. We are all ready for Spring. How about serving up some crab legs, shrimp and all the fixings, and setting the table with an ocean theme? There might be snow on the ground but this will make you feel like you are in the tropics! Here's my ocean themed table setting! I hope this inspires you!

My inspiration started with the teal blue charger plates. Perfect for an ocean themed table! Then I went shopping! I found the blue fish planter at Marshall's. I thought it would be perfect as the centerpiece! I found the plant at Lowe's on a clearance rack! I loved that big red bloom it had!

I also found these cute little palm trees at Lowe's! I thought it would give it a real "beachy" feel!

The netting was from Dollar Tree. I used 3 nets and just tossed them across the table for a natural look. The cute little lanterns with the star fish, are from Marshall's.

I found these blue orchids at Pier One. I snipped the blooms off and hot glued  them onto elastic ponytail holders! It made a perfect napkin ring.  I thought they were so pretty! I love that shade of blue. They almost look real!

A table set for 12! I am getting hungry just thinking of a wonderful seafood dinner!

I scattered small sea shells all over the table. You can find sea shells at party or craft stores.

I flanked two small palm trees (From Lowe's garden dept) on each side of the blue fish planter.

I adore those little palm trees!

I hope you enjoyed my ocean themed tablescape! Thanks for taking a peek!
