My wife and I are stuck in a hard spot with going to church. While we both want to go to church, going to church is a painstakingly futile effort in my opinion.
We have a 4 year old daughter - who could make it through a service pretty easily (with the help of a few color books and maybe her LeapPad with headphones.)
With our 2 1/2 year old boys, that's a different story. As they were about 1 1/2, we took them twice to church and each time it was pretty pointless. We spent the entire service trying to make sure they were occupied and making sure they weren't bothering any of the people around us. Nearly an impossible task. Totally impossible to "get" anything out of the service - which for me is the main reason to go.
Here is an article I came across for parents dealing with the same thing that my wife and I are. I truly hope that in the next year or so we'll be able to go to church and be able to get something out of it.
