SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - Crews repairing Xcel Energy's electric grid wrapped up restoration efforts Sunday.
Xcel spokesman Jim Wilcox says 90,000 customers in Sioux Falls and surrounding communities experienced power outages between Tuesday and Sunday.
Wilcox says crews today are working at making temporary repairs more permanent ahead of a new storm arriving midweek. He says we just had the best tree-trimming job in the history of Sioux Falls so there's not much left to fall down. But he says Xcel is aware of the potential weather and they're going to keep some of the contract line crews available for this week's weather.
Wilcox says there are some customers who still need to higher electricians to repair the mast that was attached to their home before service can be reconnected safely.
