KALAMAZOO (WKZO) -- Gazelle Sports in Kalamazoo hosted a “Runners for Boston” event Monday evening along with hundreds of specialty running stores nationwide. Over a thousand showed up to the event held in downtown Kalamazoo’s Bronson Park. The occasion included a 3-mile group run/walk that stepped off at 6:30 p.m.
Gazelle Sports raised over $12,000 selling t-shirts outside their store to participants for $20 with all the proceeds benefiting The One Fund Boston. The Boston charity was established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino to help those most affected by the April 15 bombings at the Boston Marathon.
