Country newcomer Tyler Farr is good buddies with hitmaker Lee Brice , so he's seen what it's like for a singer to suddenly achieve fame thanks to a hit song. That rocket ride to stardom is a lot different for Tyler now that it's actually happening to him though. His hit "Redneck Crazy" is all over the radio, and the song's video is making Tyler's face recognizable to country fans everywhere. That exposure is leading to some pretty interesting experiences for Tyler, including an intense meltdown by a female fan at a recent show.
He tells ABC News Radio, "I had one take off crying and screaming on me the other day at a show. I jumped off the stage, went over and she pulled the old Justin Bieber fan thing on me. It just makes me laugh."
Tyler had another fan spot him at the Bass Pro Shop recently, but the fan only said hello to him via Twitter.
Says Tyler, "I mean 20 minutes later, there's a tweet: 'I just saw Tyler Farr in Bass Pro Shops but was too nervous to go say hi to him.' I'm like, 'When did this happen?'"
Tyler can't believe he's getting all this attention from fans. He says, "I'm just a hillbilly over here writing songs. It's funny though. I try to enjoy it."
Tyler thoroughly enjoys hearing his fans sing "Redneck Crazy" back to him night after night at his concerts. That song is the lead single and title track from Tyler's debut album, due out October 15.
