Brett Eldredge is making a big splash on the country chart with his new single, "Don't Ya," a flirty track from his debut album, Bring You Back , due out August 6. Brett was presented with a gold single plaque for "Don't Ya" Tuesday night in Nashville before performing the new album for an invitation-only audience. Brett wrote all but one of the songs on the new album, but it wasn't that long ago the Illinois native wasn't sure anyone would even listen to his music.
He tells ABC News Radio, "It's a crazy feeling having gone through the whole ride of moving to Nashville not knowing anybody and everybody telling you how hard it is, and you're figuring out how hard it is, but never taking 'no' for an answer and just figuring it out."
Thanks to the success of "Don't Ya" and a spot opening several shows on Taylor Swift 's RED Tour this year, Brett is now one of country's hottest newcomers. He's quick to thank all of the people that have helped him get to this point.
"It's cool to finally be here and gone through the ups and downs," Brett explains, "and it makes it so much sweeter, and it makes you wanna sit back and take a sip and toast to it a few times with family and friends and fans and the people in the industry that have helped me through, 'cause I could have never done it without all these folks."
Brett had several family members from Illinois in Nashville for his album preview party Tuesday night. See where he's playing next at BrettEldredge.com .
