SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The non-profit feeding ministry The Banquet will start serving breakfast five days a week beginning in June.
Executive Director Tamera Jerke-Liesinger says breakfast is served now on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. By adding two more days an additional 21,000 meals will be served each year.
Jerke-Liesinger says The Banquet needs to ramp up volunteers for the June start-up. She says that means getting volunteer groups signed up so that when June comes around there's a solid base with the ability to serve extra meals.
Jerke-Liesinger says to serve breakfast a group needs twenty volunteers responsible for paying for cooking and serving a meal.
