McCaffrey earns another All-American honor

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Augustana's Cameron McCaffrey was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) Division II All-America team, the organization announced Wednesday.

McCaffrey, who also earned All-America Third Team honors from Daktronics this season, is one of 16 players in the country to earn NABC All-America honors. The NABC All-America team is voted on by Division II coaches across the country.

The guard from Portland, Ore. was also selected to compete in the 2013 Reese's Division II All-Star Game by the NABC. McCaffrey will compete in the game this Friday at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky.

McCaffrey capped off a stellar collegiate career in 2012-13 by leading the Vikings with 21.3 points and 4.8 assists per game. He also led the team in field goals made (213), field goals attempted (456), 3-point field goals made (54), 3-point field goals attempted (152), free throws made (179), steals (30) and minutes played (34.5 minutes per game).

He led the Vikings in scoring in 28 of 31 games this season and scored 20 or more points in a game 18 times this season, including 30, 36 and his career-high 40 points against the University of Mary on Jan. 18.

Augustana made its 11th appearance in the NCAA tournament in 2012-13 and finished the season 22-9. The Vikings finished third in the NSIC with a 15-7 mark in the league.
