SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - The Philippino Red Cross is the lead team for typhoon relief but the American Red Cross has committed some resources.
Regional Communications Director for the Dakotas, Brian Shawn, says the American Red Cross sent two disaster relief specialists last weekend.
Shawn says communication is still limited in the hardest hit towns. He says the Red Cross is also sending two, telecommunication's specialsts and a satellite system in the next couple of days. He says the goal is to set up a communication's link so that people can get in touch with loved ones if they're lookig for them. Shawn says the hope is that a communication’s system can be set up in a week.
He says the Red Cross has activated its family tracing services.
