Rapid City, SD (KELO-AM) This must be one of the longest police chases in South Dakota history.
State Troopers Thanksgiving Day pursued a man wanted in a Wyoming murder case more than 200 miles along Interstate 90 from Rapid City to near Chamberlain. The police say speeds reached near 120 mph at times. The chase started when a trooper near Rapid spotted the fugitive's vehicle around 9:45 in the morning.
The troopers made several attempts to deploy tire-deflation spikes and were finally successful west of Chamberlain in Lyman County. The man was arrested without further trouble and is being held at the Brule County jail.
