SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO AM) - According to the Community Health Care Association of the Dakotas, there are about 100,000 South Dakotans who do not have any health insurance.
CEO Linda Ross says the Association supports the six community health centers in South Dakota that provides primary care services to anyone regardless of their insurance plans.
Ross says the health centers also help consumers with enrollment in the affordable healthcare marketplace. She says there are 20 health center certified, application counselors and 20 navigators located throughout South Dakota. She says consumers can meet and talk about health insurance needs. They can assist people through the enrollment process.
Ross says counselor and navigator locations can be found at healthcare.gov. That's also the site consumers must go through to find out if they're eligible for tax credits or susbsidies.
