Tickets for basketball doubleheader in Rapid City on sale Friday

VERMILLION, S.D. (KWSN)—Major college basketball is coming to Rapid City as the University of South Dakota women’s and men’s basketball teams will host a doubleheader against South Dakota School of Mines and University of Wyoming, respectively, on Dec. 7 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center in Rapid City. Tickets for the doubleheader will be on sale starting Friday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m. at the Rushmore box office or online at www.GotMine.com.

The South Dakota women and the School of Mines will tip off at 5 p.m. The South Dakota men and Wyoming will follow at 7:15 p.m. The Coyotes and Lady HardRockers will meet for the first time. The Coyotes and Cowboys will meet for the fifth year in a row.

“Rapid City is an event town and bringing Division I basketball to Rapid City will not only help USD, but it is going to help West River experience our brand of basketball,” said USD director of athletics David Herbster. “We are taking a home game away, but we will be placing our teams in an incredible setting. It will be an experience they remember for a long time.”

USD head women’s basketball coach Amy Williams is a native of Spearfish, S.D., which sits 45 minutes to the northwest of Rapid City. She will be in her second season at the helm of the Coyotes after leading the team to a runner-up finish at the Summit League Tournament and a Final Four appearance in the WBI. The Coyotes also feature sophomore center Margaret McCloud, a Rapid City native. Ryan Larsen, recently named the head coach of the Lady HardRockers and a former USD assistant coach, hails from Spearfish.

One ticket will get you into both games. Tickets are available in four levels including lower bowl sideline, upper bowl sideline, lower bowl end court and upper bowl end court at prices ranging from $10-$20.  There are also two corporate ticket packages available that range from $298-$474 and offer courtside, club and upper or lower bowl tickets in the package.  Currently, courtside and club tickets are only available in corporate ticket packages.

The Coyote doubleheader is brought to you by the Rapid City Convention & Visitors Bureau along with ISIS Hospitality, LLC (including WaTiki Indoor Waterpark Resort, Hotel Alex Johnson & Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort) and The Bruggar Hillard Group – RBC Wealth Management.
