VERMILLION, S.D. (KWSN) – Two meetings with Wyoming and road games against Air Force and Kansas State highlight the South Dakota men’s basketball schedule released by interim head coach Joey James on Wednesday.

The Coyotes will see Wyoming for the fifth straight season, playing in Laramie on Nov. 22 and again in Rapid City on Dec. 7 at the Rushmore Civic Center. The second game will be hosted by USD but will count as a neutral site contest for RPI and other NCAA measurements.

South Dakota will also play at Air Force on Dec. 5 and at Kansas State on Dec. 10. It’ll be the third time in five seasons USD will play at Kansas State.

The schedule is loaded with road dates to start the season, starting with a road trip to St. Bonaventure on Nov. 9 and Canisius on Nov. 11. USD will play three of its first 12 games at the DakotaDome, and will have its home opener on Nov. 30 against Graceland. USD will also host Iowa Wesleyan (Dec. 2), Green Bay (Dec. 14) and Cal State Northridge (Jan. 2) in nonconference play.

After New Year’s Day, the Coyotes will play seven of their first nine games at home with five of those being Summit League matchups. They’ll start Summit League play by hosting newcomer-Denver on Jan. 11, and will also host North Dakota State (Jan. 30) and South Dakota State (Feb. 2) in that nine-game period.

After ending the regular season on March 1 at South Dakota State, USD will play in the Summit League Tournament starting March 8 in Sioux Falls. The top team in the league standings will receive a bye to the tournament semifinals.
