Sioux Falls, SD (KELO-AM) Mayor Mike Huether and his challenger, City Counciler Greg Jamison disagree on three out of the four ballot issues facing Sioux Falls voters April 8th.
They both strongly support snow gates, but they widely diverge from there.
Huether favors an indoor pool at Spellerberg Park, saying it's the best place based on studies. Jamison favors an outdoor pool at Spellerberg, saying a bigger, better indoor pool complex could be built somewhere else.
Jamison opposes the Southside Walmart, saying there is not enough buffering between the project and residential neighborhoods. Huether says he understands the concerns of some of those in the neighborhoods, but still supports the Walmart because of the jobs and sales taxes it will bring.
On the Shape Places ballot question, probably the most confusing of the four, Huether supports it while Jamison opposes it.
Huether and Jamision discussed the ballot issues, crime, leadership styles, smart growth and other topics during KELO's mayoral forum on Wednesday.
