Pierre, SD (KELO-AM) South Dakotans who like their current health insurance can keep it even if it doesn't comply with Obamacare, at least for the next two years.
Governor Daugaard announced on Tuesday that insurance companies will be allowed to renew or extend policies until October 2016. State officials say the extension could save South Dakotans some $70-million over the next two years.
Deb Muller with Avera Health Plans says the extra extension gives people more choices. Right now the extension is until October 2016, but Muller doesn't rule out additional extensions in the future.
