Bemidji, MN (KWSN) - The Bemidji Axmen announced they are parting ways with the franchise's first ever head coach, Robert Fuller.

Fuller guided the team to a fast start in their inaugural IFL campaign; however a 0-5 record down the stretch left Bemidji at 5-9, a far cry from the playoffs despite finishing 3rd in the United Conference behind Cedar Rapids and Sioux Falls.

“On behalf of the Axemen organization, I’d like to thank Robert for his dedication to the Axemen and the Bemidji community,” said Axemen co-owner Ross Ladehoff.   “He was an instrumental part in helping the organization through our inaugural season and we wish him the best in his future endeavors.”

A national search for Fuller’s replacement is underway; the team says they would like to have a new coach in place later this month.
