The operator of a proposed uranium mine in the Black Hills of South Dakota has agreed to merge to a Hong Kong company, Azarga Resources Limited.
Powertech Uranium Corp together with Azarga would form a uranium mining company called Azarga Uranium Corp.
Powertech’s plan invloves pumping water into ore deposits to help dissolve the uranium. Once dissolved, the water would be pumped back out, where the uranium could then be collected and sold to nuclear power plants.
Licensing is still underway, and no environmental impacts of this method have yet been found.
