Undated (KELO-AM) South Dakota should remain a solidly red state for years to come if current trends remain steady, according to the results of a new Dakota Poll.
43% of young South Dakotans between 18 and 35 describe themselves as either very conservative, somewhat conservative, or leaning conservative. Those numbers are nearly double the 24% who call themselves very liberal, somewhat liberal, or leaning liberal.
The Poll's Sam Hurst says if your a Republican the results are perhaps cause for celebration, if your a Democrat, it is cause for serious head scratching.
It's the Dakota Poll's first polling of young South Dakotans. The Dakota Poll since 2010 has taken four polls a year.
