Burnsville, Minn.(KWSN) - Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) Commissioner Butch Raymond is pleased to announce the hiring of Vicki Davis as the Supervisor of Women's Basketball Officiating. She will begin her duties on July 1.
Davis will serve as the initial point of contact for all immediate women's basketball officiating matters within the NSIC. She will also communicate with referees throughout the season ensuring compliance with all officiating policies and procedures. Davis will also be responsible for the identification, hiring, training, development and oversight of women's basketball officials for the NSIC.
"The NSIC is pleased to add Vicki as our new coordinator of women's basketball officiating. Her knowledge and experience in officiating along with her current position as NCAA Regional Advisor of Women's Basketball Officiating will provide us with a solid foundation to build upon for future years", said Raymond.Davis has an extensive resume which includes past experience as an observer of officials for the Big 10 Conference and the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). From 1968 to 2002 she was an official in all three divisions of the NCAA and at the high school level.
Davis worked as the coordinator of women's basketball officials for the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) from 1990-2003 and is a past president of the Minnesota State Coaches Association.
Davis received a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical education, health and coaching from Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU) in 1971.
She then received a Masters of Arts degree in physical education and athletic administration from MSU in 1979. While an undergrad, Davis was a captain on the volleyball and basketball teams and later, in 1983, was inducted into the MSU Hall of Fame.
She was also inducted into the Minnesota State High School League Hall of Fame in 1994 for her contributions to officiating.
