SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — Moviegoers at West Mall 7 in Sioux Falls will soon be able to enjoy an adult beverage with their flick.
The Sioux Falls City Council unanimously approved a beer and wine license for the theater Tuesday night.
The council voted against one in 2018, but a detailed plan from the theater and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on entertainment venues helped sway councilors.
“We really need to be giving all businesses the opportunity to grow, and to be innovative, and to be able to offer a different type of experience, provided that it’s safe,” Councilor Christine Erickson said at the meeting.
Moviegoers will need to show their ID and get a wristband to drink, and can only buy one drink at a time. The theater will also have some alcohol-free showings, like family matinees.
