SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — While consumers have concerns about natural gas prices as they heat their homes this winter, there’s some good news for South Dakotans compared to much of the nation.
South Dakota’s natural gas costs nearly $4 per million B-T-Us less than the national average.
That’s according to commodity.com.
The study says South Dakota has the fourth-lowest natural gas prices.
The analysis found that in 2020, the annual average residential gas price in South Dakota was $6.86 per million BTU, compared to $10.40 at the national level. Out of all U.S. states, South Dakota has the 4th lowest natural gas prices. Here is a summary of the data for South Dakota:
