Henry teacher sentenced for sexual relationship with student

A two-year prison sentence with one year suspended for a teacher who had sex with a student.  That’s the sentence for former Henry School District teacher Shanna Ries.  Prosecutors pressed for a more severe sentence, saying there were several incidents involved.  Ries denied that and self-reported the crime, which occurred this past February.  The judge handling the case said the fact that Ries reported the crime she committed was a factor in her sentencing decision.
