PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — Most of the funding is in place, and corrections officials want to get started on building a new men’s Penitentiary between Harrisburg and Canton. But new legislative leaders have some questions. Incoming Senate Majority Whip Kevin Jensen of Canton wants to know why other locations won’t be considered, and why the price has skyrocketed. Jensen says the Department of Corrections is hoping to have shovels in the ground this spring.
