Over the weekend (2/2) my wife Dakota and I watched David Lynch’s film Wild At Heart from 1990. Based on the book with the same name, it stars Nicolas Cage and Laura Dern as two lovers on the run from the law, and her mother! It’s an absolutely insane movie about finding love in the hellscape of the world. It’s pacing is really great, and the editing is amazing! The story is fun, and grips you from the moment it starts. It feels like a Quentin Tarantino movie, so if you’re a fan of his movies, you’d actually dig this movie. It’s absolutely NOT for kids, but adults who are fans of senseless violence and a romantic love story might love this movie. Dakota had this to say about the movie: “I loved this movie! It was my first time seeing it, and I love how it takes you for the most insane chaotic ride for 2 hours. The payoff in the end is awesome, and it just goes from one thing to the next so quickly. I thought this movie rocked.”
I give this movie 4 1/2 out of 5 stars
