SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — About 5:15 p.m. Tuesday, Excel Energy was reporting about 24,000 customers without power across Sioux Falls.
KELO-AM lost power about 4:15 p.m. as as of 5:25 p.m. Tuesday was still on generator power.
The City of Sioux Falls was reporting street flooding following the heavy rains that accompanied the strong winds.
Earlier in the afternoon, the Sioux Falls National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for northwest Minnehaha County. The NWS also reported 97 mile per hour winds at the Huron airport.
