SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The Minnehaha County Sheriff’s Office releases the names of the two victims involved in last Saturday’s (7/2) shooting in Hartford.
The victim who died at the scene is Gerald Gosmire, a 63-year-old resident of Hartford.
The other victim is now out of the hospital.
He is Carey Ludens, a 46-year-old resident of Colton.

This is an update to the incident near 464th Avenue and 261st Street near Hartford, SD that occured on 7/02/2022. Both victims received gunshot wounds and have been identified as:
Gerald Gosmire, a 63-year-old resident of Hartford. Gosmire was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Carey Ludens, a 46-year-old resident of Colton. Ludens was also treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital and has been released.
