My wife Dakota has finally finished her watch through of Twin Peaks, the TV show from the 90s. She watched Season 1 & 2, and we both watched the follow up, prequel movie Fire Walk With Me. It was fun to revisit this one so closely after I finished watching the series for my first time. But we were going through the bonus features and found a Twin Peaks “Secret movie” called The Missing Pages. When director David Lynch was filming and editing the movie Fire Walk With Me, he really wanted events in the movie to lead up to the pilot episode of the TV series. He filmed, edited, and put together so much material the original cut of the movie ended up being 4 hours long! So he trimmed it down to just the story about Laura Palmer, and it ended up being 2 ½ hours. “The Missing Pages’ were compiled of all those cut and deleted scenes to make its own movie. Honestly, a lot of these scenes should have been in the movie as they help explain a lot of what’s going on in the TV show when it ends. It was a really great watch, and if you’re already a Twin Peaks fan, this just helps explain more cannon lore to their little world of Twin Peaks, Washington. I’d only recommend it to people who want more of that.
I give Twin Peaks: The Missing Pages 4 out of 5 stars, but only if you do all your homework first
