Last night my wife and I watched The Pacifier (2006). This epic Disney picture from the mid 2000s is directed by Adam Shankman who also directed movies like The Wedding Planner, A Walk to Remember, and Bedtime Stories. It stars Vin Diesel as a Navy SEAL who is now taking care of a family of 5 children as his mission to keep secrets safe. Growing up, this was my favorite Disney movie, and this movie still holds up. Granted, as the years go on, some of these background references are getting a little dated, but it’s nothing extreme that’s needed for the story. Overall, this movie holds up very well, and was a delight to re-watch with my family as we continue watching “comfort movies” from our childhood.
I give this movie 3 ½ stars out of 5 – You can see what I’m currently watching by following me on Letterboxd @ roberthawk
