Today, I recommend Detective Heart Of America: The Final Freedom. This movie is a YouTube original? It was made by the channel FilmCow. If you’ve been on the internet at all, you’d know them best from videos like Charlie the Unicorn, Llamas with Hats, and Shadowstone Park. These early internet inspired humor takes over as the creators seemingly found porcelain figures, dolls, and other random things at a thrift store and made a 1 hour 14 minute feature film that they edited and uploaded to YouTube. And you know what? It’s really great. It’s so funny. It’s become an annual tradition in my household to watch every 4th of July since the movie released. It’s fantastic, hilarious, and great for everyone. If you like YouTube videos like Charlie the Unicorn, or Llamas with hats, or if you like movies like Team America: World Police, or Wet Hot American Summer, you’ll definitely dig Detective Heart of America: The Final Freedom. Check it out this 4th of July, and who knows, maybe it’ll be the next tradition you and your family will have along with launching fireworks, grilling hot dogs, and eating ice cream while celebrating AMERICA!!!!
I give this movie 5 out of 5 stars iconically, but not ironically at all because I genuinely love this movie and look forward to watching it every 4th of July – You can see what I’m currently watching by following me on Letterboxd @ roberthawk
