Tribes working to get Black Hills land returned

BLACK HILLS, SD (KELO.com) — Nine tribes are working to have federal land in the Black Hills returned to the Great Sioux Nation.  All nine tribes have approved resolutions supporting legislation to return the land to the tribes.  The initiative has been in the development stage since 2020.  Supporters say it would help protect the region from mining and pollution of water resources.
