PIERRE, SD (KELO.com) — A new voter registration law that took effect in South Dakota Wednesday is drawing criticism from the League of Women Voters. It requires people to provide documentation that they’re U-S Citizens when they register to vote. The law doesn’t allow photocopies of drivers licenses, tribal ID’s or non-driver ID’s – something the league says should be changed. The Elections Board held a hearing on the proposed changes Tuesday, but didn’t take any action.
