WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — Senator Mike Rounds is turning up the heat in his crusade to improve mail delivery service in South Dakota.
He wants to withhold benefits and perks from upper Postal Service executives until the service improves.
That comes after Senator Rounds found evidence that USPS officials were trying to manipulate results of an investigation by the Inspector General.
“As soon as it was announced that the OIG (Office of Inspector General) team would be heading to South Dakota my team heard from local post office employees that they were being asked to hide piles of mail.”
Rounds says incompetent executives should not get bonuses and other benefits when the mail isn’t running on time. He has authored legislation to withhold the benefits until improvements are made.
