SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) –The city of Sioux Falls is considering a $318 million budget proposal.
It was brought forward during a Tuesday hearing in front of the City Council by the Public Works Department.
Presenters say that 35% of the money would go to highway and street projects.
The budget also specifies $17 million for storm drainage, $12 million for power and distribution and $19 million for the landfill.
Public Works Director Mark Cotter says the life expectancy of the landfill wears out in 2074, but if a permit rewrite is approved, it could add an additional 37 years.
