SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) – The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) will be holding a grand opening of the Outdoor Campus Sioux Falls expansion on Thursday, November 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
This event will celebrate the completion of a two-part expansion project that started with a groundbreaking ceremony July 12, 2024.
The first part of the expansion project was completed in March of 2025, which was the outdoor archery range. Since opening, the range has averaged 15,000 visitors annually.
The second part of the expansion includes three new classrooms, a game processing area, and indoor archery range.
This expansion project is important as GFP will be able to offer more programs year-round, which will include archery, game processing, and classes taking students on their hunting journey from the field to the table.
All of these efforts are centered around recruiting, retaining, and reactivating hunters, anglers, and trappers in South Dakota.
Event Schedule:
- 9:30 a.m. – Refreshments and Self-Guided Tours
- 10:30 a.m. – Welcome and First Arrow
- 11 a.m. – Remarks and Ribbon Cutting
The Outdoor Campus Sioux Falls is located at 4500 S. Oxbow Avenue in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
