WASHINGTON, DC (KELO.com) — If you’re having problems with poor mail service, Senator Mike Rounds wants to hear from you. The Office of the Inspector General is investigating poor mail service in South Dakota. Senator Rounds has been working on the problem for two years, and wants to make sure investigators have all the information they need. He says sending South Dakota mail out of state for processing is behind delays in delivery, “They take the mail, bundle it, send it out of state from one point to another point – in some cases, three different processing centers outside the state of South Dakota before it comes back into the state of South Dakota for delivery.” He calls that unacceptable, downright stupid, and a good example of why you don’t want federal bureaucrats involved in your local delivery service.
Investigators are taking comments from South Dakota residents until July 26th. If you’d like to submit information, click on this link: https://www.uspsoig.gov/feedback?source=Network%20Changes:%20Impacts%20in%20South%20Dakota%20-%209873&source_type=upcoming_audit
