SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO.com) — The man charged with stabbing Nysam Chagi to death made his first appearance in court Wednesday.
The judge ordered 46-year-old Yien Chiek to be held in Minnehaha County Jail without bond.
After the stabbing, Chiek led officers on a high-speed pursuit that ended in Sioux City, Iowa.
Flowers still lay outside the Sioux Falls business where the stabbing took place.
Chagi’s family says she is remembered as a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, businesswoman and member of the community.
