Teckeze Kalia
SIOUX FALLS, SD (KELO.com) — A Des Moines man faces several charges after an early Saturday morning shooting in downtown Sioux Falls. Teckeze Kalia was allegedly part of a large group fighting outside a business at 11th Street and 1st Avenue at about 1am Saturday. Sgt Aaron Benson says Kalia fled the scene in a vehicle and led police on a short pursuit. “A witness saw the driver throw a handgun out of the window, which landed on the road, and was collected by officers. A short pursuit started with this vehicle and officers were able to get the vehicle stopped near 14th and 2nd Avenue. ”
Kalia faces charges of aggravated assault, riot and impeding a law enforcement officer. The shooting victim was hospitalized with a non-life-threatening injury.
