CANTON, S.D. (KELO.com) – Lincoln County has joined the list of counties approving a half-penny sales tax increase to provide property tax relief for homeowners.
The half-penny sales tax option was initiated by Governor Larry Rhoden to give counties a local option to reduce property taxes.
Seven counties have approved the plan, but it’s been referred to the November ballot for voters to decide in Codington County
